Wang, Ting;Guo, Zhi-yi;Wang, Jun-yi;Dayo, Abdul Qadeer;Liu, Wen-bin;Wang, Jun published 《Modification of traditional benzoxazine by blending with polyfunctional benzoxazines containing aromatic group and fluorene group》. The research results were published in《High Performance Polymers》 in 2021.Recommanded Product: 4-tert-Octylphenol The article conveys some information:

A series of polyfunctional benzoxazine monomers containing aromatic and fluorene group (AMFB) were used as modified agents to improve the performance of typical bifunctional bisphenol-A-aniline-based (BA-a) benzoxazine resins. The polymerization behaviors of BA-a/AMFB blends were investigated by using the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), while the dynamic mech. anal. (DMA) and thermogravimetric anal. (TGA) were used to analyze the thermomech. and thermal properties of BA-a/AMFB copolymers [poly(BA-a/AMFB)]. Moreover, the cross-section morphologies of poly(BA-a/AMFB) were observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The exptl. results showed that BA-a monomer has good catalytic activity for AMFB monomers during the curing process. Compared with BA-a polymer [poly(BA-a)], due to the introduction of heat-resistant fluorene ring and the increase of the crosslinking degree of copolymers, the copolymers showed higher glass transition temperature and better thermal properties./. For poly(BA-a/AMFB), the T5, T10, and Yc were higher than those of poly(BA-a). With the increase of the alkyl chain length of AMFB monomers, the cross-section creases gradually changed from linear to dendritic, and the number of creases increased significantly, which indicated that the toughness of the copolymers was significantly improved. And 4-tert-Octylphenol (cas: 140-66-9) was used in the research process.

The article contains the following contents:

Alkylphenols are a type of endocrine disruptors, which are commonly found in personal care products, food, and water and are more harmful to the human body. To investigate the relationship between exposure of alkylphenols in serum of pregnant women during early pregnancy and adverse birth outcomes, a total of 2035 healthy pregnant women and their neonates were recruited in the birth cohort of Zhuang nationality in Guangxi from 2015 to 2018. The peripheral venous blood samples were collected from pregnant women in early pregnancy; the concentrations of nonylphenol (NP), 4-nonylphenol (4-N-NP), 4-tert-octylphenol (4-T-OP), and 4-n-octylphenol (4-N-OP) in serum were detected by ultra-performance liquid performance chromatog.-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS). Binary logistic regression showed that NP [OR = 1.40 (95% CI: 1.00, 1.94)] was pos. associated with preterm birth. Restricted cubic spline analyses showed that logNP and log4-T-OP had non-linearity associations with preterm birth (logNP: Poverall = 0.006, Pnon-linear = 0.003; log4-T-OP: Poverall = 0.004, Pnon-linear = 0.002). Multiple linear regression anal. showed that maternal serum concentration of NP was neg. associated with birth weight of perinatal infants (β = -14.68, 95% CI: -29.18, -0.19), which may be sensitive in male neonates (β = -26.18, 95% CI: -47.33, -5.02). The findings demonstrate that nonylphenol is a risk factor of preterm birth, and nonylphenol is neg. associated with the birth weight in male infants. Guardian, Mary Grace E.;He, Ping;Bermudez, Alysson;Duan, Shuiwang;Kaushal, Sujay S.;Rosenfeldt, Erik;Aga, Diana S. published 《Optimized suspect screening approach for a comprehensive assessment of the impact of best management practices in reducing micropollutants transport in the Potomac River watershed》. The research results were published in《Water Research: X》 in 2021.Recommanded Product: 140-66-9 The article conveys some information:

The vast number of chems. potentially reaching aquatic environment pose a challenge in maintaining the quality of water resources. However, best management practices to improve water quality are typically focused on reducing nutrient transport without assessing how these practices may impact the occurrence of micropollutants. The potential for co-management of nutrients and organic micropollutants exists, but few studies have comprehensively evaluated the suite of contaminants associated with different water quality management practices (riparian zone restoration, stormwater management, etc.). Furthermore, most studies dealing with the determination of micropollutants in environmental samples include only a limited number of target analytes, leaving many contaminants undetected. To address this limitation, there has been a gradual shift in environmental monitoring from using target anal. to either suspect screening anal. (SSA) or non-targeted anal. (NTA), which relies on accurate mass measurements, mass spectral fragmentation patterns, and retention time information obtained using liquid chromatog. coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry. The work presented in this paper focuses on a wide-scope detection of micropollutants in surface water samples from the Potomac River watershed (United States). An inhouse database composed of 1039 compounds based on exptl. anal. of primary standards was established, and SSA workflow was optimized and applied to determine the presence of micropollutants in surface water. A total of 103 micropollutants were detected in the samples, some of which are contaminants that were not previously monitored and belong to various classes such as pharmaceuticals, personal care products, per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances and other persistent industrial chems. The impact of best management practices being implemented for nitrogen and phosphorus reductions were also assessed for their potential to reduce micropollutant transport. This work illustrates the advantages of suspect screening methods to determine a large number of micropollutants in environmental samples and reveals the potential to co-manage a diverse array of micropollutants based on shared transport and transformation mechanisms in watersheds. The experimental procedure involved many compounds, such as 4-tert-Octylphenol (cas: 140-66-9) .

The research results were published in《Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry》 in 2022.COA of Formula: C14H22O The article conveys some information:

With improved anal. techniques, environmental monitoring studies are increasingly able to report the occurrence of tens or hundreds of chems. per site, making it difficult to identify the most relevant chems. from a biol. standpoint. For the present study, organic chem. occurrence was examined, individually and as mixtures, in the context of potential biol. effects. Sediment was collected at 71 Great Lakes (USA/Canada) tributary sites and analyzed for 87 chems. Multiple risk-based lines of evidence were used to prioritize chems. and locations, including comparing sediment concentrations and estimated porewater concentrations with established whole-organism benchmarks (i.e., sediment and water quality criteria and screening values) and with high-throughput toxicity screening data from the US Environmental Protection Agency′s ToxCast database, estimating additive effects of chem. mixtures on common ToxCast endpoints, and estimating toxic equivalencies for mixtures of alkylphenols and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). This multiple-lines-of-evidence approach enabled the screening of more chems., mitigated the uncertainties of individual approaches, and strengthened common conclusions. Collectively, at least one benchmark/screening value was exceeded for 54 of the 87 chems., with exceedances observed at all 71 of the monitoring sites. Chems. with the greatest potential for biol. effects, both individually and as mixture components, were bisphenol A, 4-nonylphenol, indole, carbazole, and several PAHs. Potential adverse outcomes based on ToxCast gene targets and putative adverse outcome pathways relevant to individual chems. and chem. mixtures included tumors, skewed sex ratios, reproductive dysfunction, hepatic steatosis, and early mortality, among others. The results provide a screening-level prioritization of chems. with the greatest potential for adverse biol. effects and an indication of sites where they are most likely to occur. To complete the study, the researchers used 4-tert-Octylphenol (cas: 140-66-9) .

The detection of endocrine disrupting chems. such as estrogenic compounds in environmental samples is a hot topic of research. In this context, this study describes a new screening method for 75 estrogenic chems. from environmental water samples based on two databases built from the data obtained from liquid chromatog. with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry. A first database, named ”DATABASE I,” is constructed from the retention time and m/z of mol. weight-related ions with measured accurate mass of the 75 estrogenic chems. A second database, ”DATABASE II,” includes the collision-induced fragmentation spectra with measured accurate mass of the compounds These databases are resp. applied for a rough screening and precise identification of the estrogenic chems. of sewage effluents as follows: Step (1): A treated sewage effluent sample is subjected to anal. using the time-of-flight scan mode, and a rough screening using DATABASE I is performed. Step (2): The obtained candidate estrogenic chems. by step 1 are measured using the targeted tandem mass spectrometry mode in which collision energy dependence fragmentations of them are induced. The resulting fragmentation mass spectra are screened using DATABASE II. The application of these two databases improved the accuracy in the identification of estrogenic chems., reducing the risk of misidentification. The article was appeared in 《Science of the Total Environment》. They have made some progress in their research.HPLC of Formula: 140-66-9 The article mentions the following:

Phenolic environmental estrogens (PEEs) are ubiquitous in most rivers worldwide and may cause potential endocrine-disrupting effects in aquatic organisms. Three typical PEEs (bisphenol A, BPA; 4-tert-octylphenol,4-t-OP; and nonylphenol, NP) were investigated in the rivers of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration, which is the most urbanized and industrialized area in North China. The target PEEs were detected in 100% of river water samples, and the concentrations ranged from 23 to 255 ng L-1. The concentrations of NP in most river sections were higher than those of BPA and 4-t-OP. The spatiotemporal variations in PEEs indicated that both domestic and industrial wastewater were main sources of PEEs in river water. In addition, rainfall runoff might be an important source of PEEs in the receiving waters, especially in the wet season. The ecotoxicol. risk assessment of individual PEE revealed a moderate to high risk for aquatic organisms at most sampling sites. The mixture risk prediction based on the concentration addition method indicated a potential cumulative risk of PEEs in the study area, highlighting the importance of mixture risk assessment in the aquatic environment.4-tert-Octylphenol (cas: 140-66-9) were involved in the experimental procedure.

The article was appeared in 《Microchemical Journal》. They have made some progress in their research.Name: 4-tert-Octylphenol The article mentions the following:

A method coupling automated thermal desorption (ATD) with in-tube derivatization and solid phase micro-extraction (SPME), with on-injector derivatization gas chromatog. – tandem mass spectrometry (GC/MSMS) was developed and used for the simultaneous quantification of 100 semivolatile (SVOCs) pollutants (50 pesticides, 16 PAHs, 22 PCBs, 7 phthalates and 5 alkylphenols) in indoor air, indoor dust, and for bioaccessibility evaluation. Chem. compounds in indoor air were sampled on Tenax-TA passive samplers (PAS) exposed for 15 days, while dust was collected on silicon carbide (SiC) foam using a custom made vacuum cleaner head. After sampling, Tenax tubes from PAS were introduced directly into a thermal desorption tube while dust was extracted using accelerated solvent extractor (ASE). Extract is then used to spike clean Tenax-TA tube that is then treated as a Tenax from PAS. The derivatization agent (MtBSTFA) and a mix of internal standards were added into the tubes before thermal desorption and anal. by GC/MSMS. The SPME technique was applied to extract the 100 SVOCs from the different tested bioaccessibility solutions (saliva, gastric, intestinal). This method permits the determination of 100 pollutants in a single run, including those requiring a derivatization step, with very low quantification and detection limits. Indeed, ATD-GC/MSMS technic presents very low LOD (0.002 to 0.17 ng) and LOQ (0.007 to 0.56 ng) values while SPME-GC/MSMS displays slightly higher LOD (0.044 to 12.3 ng) and LOQ (0.10 to 37.0 ng) ranges. In the offshore petroleum industry, polymer-containing oily sludge (PCOS) hinders oil extraction and causes tremendous hazards to the marine ecol. environment. In this paper, an effective pretreatment method is proposed to break the adhesive structure of PCOS, and the experiments of supercritical water gasification are carried out under the influencing factors including residence time (5-30 min) and temperature (400-750 °C) in batch reactors. The increase of time and temperature all show great promoting effects on gas production Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, including naphthalene and phenanthrene, are considered as the main obstacles for a complete gasification. Carbon gasification efficiency (CE) reaches maximum of 95.82% at 750 °C, 23 MPa for 30 min, while naphthalene makes up 70% of the organic compounds in residual liquid products. The highest hydrogen yield of 19.79 (mol H2/kg of PCOS) is observed in 750 °C for 25 min. A simplified reaction pathway is presented to describe the gaseous products (H2, CO, CO2, CH4). Two intermediates are defined for describing the reaction process bases on the exhaustive study on organic matters in residual liquid products. A review. Due to the extensive use and pseudo-persistence of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs), they are frequently detected in the aqueous environment, which has attracted global attention. In this paper, accumulation data of 81 PPCPs in surface water or sediment in China were reported. In addition, 20 kinds of PPCPs with high frequency were selected and their ecol. risk assessment was conducted by risk quotient (RQs). The results indicated that the concentration detected in surface water and sediment ranged from ng/L (ng/kg) to μg/L ( μg/kg) in China, which was similar to concentrations reported globally. However, contamination by certain PPCPs, such as caffeine, oxytetracycline, and erythromycin, was relatively high with a maximum concentration of more than 2000 ng/L in surface water. RQs revealed that 14 kinds of PPCPs pose no significant risk or low risk to aquatic organisms, while 6 kinds of PPCPs pose a high risk. Addnl., the pollution characteristics of PPCPs in each watershed are different. The Haihe River watershed and the central and lower Yangtze River were the regions of high concern for erythromycin. Triclosan has potential risks in the Pearl River watershed. This study determined the occurrence and risk of PPCPs in China in the past decade, providing a scientific basis for PPCPs pollution control and risk prevention.
