The hydrogenation is carried out using hydrogen 3.0 at 90-130 C. and 20 bar. When the hydrogenation is complete, the catalyst is separated off by filtration. The filtrate is freed from solvent in vacuo, giving 5.1 g of product in a mixture of cis and trans isomers.
