The volume of the organic mixture was reduced under vacuum and the crude residue was purified by column chromatography. The NMR of the orange solid was consistent with 2,2-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)-2H- benzo[f]thieno[2′,3′:4,5]thieno[3,2-h]chromene (0.063g).
