Tian, Ning; Ma, Wanyun published the artcile< Antidotal effects of calcium folinate against high-dose methotrexate-induced damages to mouse matured oocytes>, Safety of Calcium folinate, the main research area is calcium folinate methotrexate matured oocyte damage antidotal effect.
Methotrexate (MTX) is a common folate antagonist and it blocks the dihydrofolate reductase, thereby causing tetrahydrofolate for mation disorder. Tetrahydrofolate is the active folate form and its related metabolic products are required for DNA synthesis and DNA methylation modification. The effects of MTX have been demonstrated by DNA methylation aberrations, DNA damage, and DNA synthesis obstruction, causing cell replication disorder and apoptosis. Calcium folinate (CF), a calcium salt of leucovorin, can easily be converted into tetrahydrofolate without dihydrofolate reductase involvement. CF supplement alleviates MTX-induced reduction in active folates and thus complements Me donor and the required components of DNA synthesis, Nevertheless, MTX also causes changes in proteins and their functions besides DNA-related side effects.
Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica published new progress about Apoptosis. 1492-18-8 belongs to class alcohols-buliding-blocks, and the molecular formula is C20H21CaN7O7, Safety of Calcium folinate.
