Purpose: As a third-generation EGFR TKI has been taken orally, Osimertinib effectively inhibits mutant EGFR, including T790M EGFR resistance mutations. Here, we examined real-world efficacy and tolerability of Osimertinib among Chinese patients with advanced EGFR T790M-mutant NSCLC. Patients and Methods: A total of 106 advanced NSCLC patients who were taking Osimertinib following disease progression after EGFR-TKIs or other treatments were retro-spectively recruited in this study. The PFS and OS after Osimertinib treatment were analyzed as the primary endpoints. Results: Osimertinib was used as a second line and >= 3rd line treatment in 22.6% and 77.4% of the patients, respectively. DCR and ORR were 93.4% and 57.5%, respectively. Median PFS was 12.4 12 (95% CI, 10.5-13.5) months. The PFS was 11 (8.0, 14.0) and 12 (10.3,13.7) months (p = 0.373), in patients with and without CNS metastasis, respectively. PFS in 2nd and >= 3rd line treatment was 11 (9.0, 13.0) and 12.4 12 (8.9, 15.1) months (p = 0.799), respectively. In patients with EGFR exon 19 deletion and exon 21 L858 mutation, the median PFS was 11 (9.2, 12.8) and 12 (9.2, 14.8) months, respectively (p = 0.833). Median PFS in the monotherapy group and combined anti-angiogenesis group was 11 (9.9,12.1) and 14 (11.2,16.8) months, respectively. Median OS after Osimertinib initiation was 27 (19.6, 34.4) months: 15 (6.9, 23.1) and 27 (22, 32) months in patients with and without CNS metastasis (p=0.027), 27 (20.3,33.7) months and (undefined) as second line or >= 3rd line of treatment (p = 0.421), respectively. An efficient magnetically recyclable bimetallic catalyst by anchoring copper and manganese complexes on the Fe(3)O(4)NPs was prepared and named as Fe3O4@Cu-Mn. It was founded as a powerful catalyst for the domino one-pot oxidative benzimidazole and Biginelli reactions from benzyl alcohols as a green protocol in the presence of air, under solvent-free and mild conditions. Fe3O4@Cu-Mn NPs were well characterized by FT-IR, XRD, FE-SEM, TEM, VSM, TGA, EDX, DLS, and ICP analyses. The optimum range of parameters such as time, temperature, amount of catalyst, and solvent were investigated for the domino one-pot benzimidazole and Biginelli reactions to find the optimum reaction conditions. The catalyst was compatible with a variety of benzyl alcohols, which provides favorable products with good to high yields for all of derivatives. Hot filtration and Hg poisoning tests from the nanocatalyst revealed the stability, low metal leaching and heterogeneous nature of the catalyst. To prove the synergistic and cooperative effect of the catalytic system, the various homologues of the catalyst were prepared and then applied to a model reaction separately. Finally, the catalyst could be filtered from the reaction mixture simply, and reused for five consecutive cycles with a minimum loss in catalytic activity and performance. Two high-resolution mass spectrometers (HRMS) with different analyzer technology, Orbitrap and hybrid quadrupole time-of-flight (QTOF), were compared with a low-resolution mass spectrometer, quadrupole, to analyse a set of 35 difficult allergens. These difficult allergens are commonly coeluted fragrance allergens with matrix compounds, using standard gas chromatography-mass spectrometer conditions, from the extended list of the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS). Although the fundamental role of chromatographic separation has been demonstrated many times, the aim of this work is to demonstrate the benefits of high-resolution. The added value of high-resolution was illustrated in both a qualitative and a quantitative way. For qualitative aspect, the high resolution extracted ion signals of these two detectors were compared with the low-resolution extracted ion signals. About 50% of the coeluted cases observed with the low-resolution detector are easily resolved by the two high-resolution detectors. For the quantitative aspect, an accuracy profile methodology and a performance metric were used to propose an overall evaluation. The Orbitrap mass spectrometer demonstrated a better overall performance, while the QTOF presented similar or even lower quantification performances than the quadrupole on the set of analysed fragrances.

In order to conserve natural resources and prevent waste generation, effective utilization of industrial wastes and/or by-products for beneficial engineering applications becomes inevitable. In order to accomplish this, extensive research studies, exploring properties and new applications of waste materials in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner, have been initiated worldwide. Red mud (RM, also known as bauxite residue) is one of the wastes generated by the aluminium industry and its disposal and utilization have been traditionally hindered due to the extreme alkalinity (pH about 10.5-13.5). To date, no comprehensive review on various properties of RM of different origin and associated challenges in using it as a beneficial engineering material has been performed. The objective of this study is first to critically appraise the current understanding of properties of RM through a comprehensive literature review and detailed laboratory investigations conducted on Indian RM by the authors, to assess and identify the potential engineering applications, and to finally discuss associated challenges in using it in practical applications. Physical, chemical, mineralogical and geotechnical properties of RMs of different origin and production processes are reviewed. Mechanisms behind the pozzolanic reaction of RM under different chemical and mineralogical compositional conditions are discussed. Environmental concerns associated with the use of RM are also raised. Studies relevant to leachability characteristics reveal that most of the measured chemical concentrations are within the permissible regulatory limits. Overall, the review shows that RM disposal and reuse is complicated by its extreme alkalinity, which is also noticed to be influencing multiple engineering properties. But with selected pH amendments, the treated RM is found to have significant potential to be used as an effective and sustainable geomaterial. The assessment is majorly based on the characteristics of Indian RMs; hence the adaptation of the findings to other RMs should be assessed on a case-by-case basis. For the first time, two new oxovanadium and dioxomolybdenum Schiff base complexes, VOL(OMe) and MoO2L, were synthesized through the reaction of a ONO tridentate Schiff base ligand (H2L) derived from the condensation of 5-bromosalicylaldehyde and nicotinic hydrazide with oxo and dioxo acetylacetonate salts of vanadium and molybdenum, [VO(acac)(2) and MoO2(acac)2], respectively. The synthesized ligand and complexes were characterized by various spectroscopic techniques like FT-IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, elemental analysis (CHN) and the most authentic single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis (SC-XRD). The geometry around the central metal ion in MoO2L was distorted octahedral as revealed by the data collected from diffraction studies. Non-covalent interactions that are responsible for crystal packing are explored by Hirshfeld surface analysis. Theoretical calculations of the synthesized compounds, carried out by DFT at B3LYP/Def2-TZVP level of theory, indicated that the calculated results are in agreement with the experimental findings. Moreover, the catalytic activities of both complexes were investigated for the selective oxidation of benzylic alcohols using urea hydrogen peroxide (UHP) in acetonitrile. (C) 2021 Elsevier Ltd. A series of copper sulfide (CS) nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized just by varying the amount of the sulfur precursor and have been explored for the first time as a three-way heterogeneous catalyst in the photocatalytic oxidation of a number of aromatic alcohols, photocatalytic degradation and the reduction of water pollutants, and the facile synthesis of pharmaceutically important moiety 4-aryl-NH-1,2,3-triazoles. The green and novel protocol was successfully developed for the synthesis of covellite (CuS, Cu2+) and the covellite-villamaninite (CuS-CuS2) (copper in Cu2+, Cu1+) phases of copper sulfide, employing EDTA both as the chelating and capping agent via a simple precipitation method at room temperature using water as the solvent. A blue shift in the absorption spectra and band gap in the range of 2.02-2.07 eV prompted the investigation of the as-synthesized CS nanoparticles as the photocatalyst under visible light irradiation. In the absence of any oxidizing or reducing agent, covellite CuS nanoparticles showed the highest photocatalytic efficiency for the degradation of methylene blue (MB) and the reduction of carcinogenic and mutagenic Cr(vi) to non-toxic Cr(iii). Interestingly, the mixed phase of CS (CuS-CuS2), where Cu is present in both +1 and +2 oxidation states, was found to be the most efficient catalyst compared to CuS toward the visible light-mediated selective oxidation of various benzyl alcohols to their corresponding aldehydes. However, in the synthesis of substituted NH-1,2,3-triazoles, single-phase CS nanoparticles (i.e., CuS) provided the best catalytic result. This significant outcome certainly opens up the scope for realizing the present demand of low-cost multifunctional semiconductor nano-materials, which will have a huge impact on the economy and environment when they show more than two potential applications.

Base-metal catalysts Co1, Co2 and Co3 were synthesized from designed pincer ligands L-1, L-2 and L-3 having NNN donor atoms respectively. Co1, Co2 and Co3 were characterized by IR, UV-Vis. and ESI-MS spectroscopic studies. Single crystal X-ray diffraction studies were investigated to authenticate the molecular structures of Co1 and Co3. Catalysts Col, Co2 and Co3 were utilized to study the dehydrogenative activation of alcohols for N-alkylation of amines, alpha-alkylation of ketones and synthesis of quinolines. Under optimized reaction conditions, a broad range of substrates including alcohols, anilines and ketones were exploited. A series of control experiments for N-alkylation of amines, alpha-alkylation of ketones and synthesis of quinolines were examined to understand the reaction pathway. ESI-MS spectral studies were investigated to characterize cobalt-alkoxide and cobalt-hydride intermediates. Reduction of styrene by evolved hydrogen gas during the reaction was investigated to authenticate the dehydrogenative nature of the catalysts. Probable reaction pathways were proposed for N-alkylation of amines, alpha-alkylation of ketones and synthesis of quinolines on the basis of control experiments and detection of reaction intermediates.

Palladium-catalyzed 2-substituted quinazolin-4(3H)-one formation from readily available o-nitrobenzamides and alcohols using hydrogen transfer is described. Various quinazolin-4(3H)-ones were obtained in good to high yields. The cascade reaction including alcohol oxidation, nitro reduction, condensation, and dehydrogenation occurs without any added reducing or oxidizing agent.
