In this study, a green deep eutectic solvent (DES) was synthesized at room temperature-based choline chloride (ChCl) and 4-methoxybenzyl alcohol (Anisyl alcohol (An-OH)) used as the conductive binder for modification of carbon paste electrode (CPE). In addition, single wall carbon nanotubes decorated by ZrO2 (SWCNT-ZrO2) nanocomposite was synthesized by the hydrothermal method and characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDAX), and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) analytical techniques. The DES and SWCNT-ZrO2 were used as a binder and modifier in the carbon paste electrode structure to form CPE/DES/SWCNT-ZrO2 as an electrochemical sensor for the simultaneous determination of paracetamol and rizatriptan as two anti-migration drugs for the first time. In the direction of optimal experimental conditions, the effective parameters such as pH, amount of modifier, and electrolyte type were optimized. Under these conditions, the limits of detection (LODs) 0.7 nM and 9.0 nM; linear dynamic ranges (LDRs) 0.003?100 and 0.08?100; and relative standard deviations (RSDs for n = 5) 1.63 and 1.52 were sequentially found for rizatriptan and paracetamol. The results indicate that the sensor can be applied for the detection of trace amounts of paracetamol and rizatriptan in clinical and pharmaceutical samples.

A novel photoactive porous material of GR/FeMIL-101 based on FeMIL-101 metal organic frameworks (MOFs) was successfully synthesized via a simple hydrothermal method. The structural and photoelectric properties of the GR/FeMIL-101 was analyzed by XRD, SEM, TEM, TGA, XPS, UV-vis DRS, FT-IR, PL and EIS methods. The photocatalytic performance for the selective oxidation of benzyl alcohol with GR/FeMIL-101 as catalysts was evaluated under visible light irradiation. The results showed that the GR/FeMIL-101 nanohybrid had better photocatalytic performance than both of FeMIL-101 and the pristine MIL-101. It was further found that the incorporation of Fe and MIL-101 caused valence fluctuations of Fe3+/Fe2+ which improved the absorption of visible-light and increased the separation efficiency of photogenerated charges. In addition, the combination of FeMIL-101 and GR could further promote the transfer rate of the photoelectrons. Purpose: As a third-generation EGFR TKI has been taken orally, Osimertinib effectively inhibits mutant EGFR, including T790M EGFR resistance mutations. Here, we examined real-world efficacy and tolerability of Osimertinib among Chinese patients with advanced EGFR T790M-mutant NSCLC. Patients and Methods: A total of 106 advanced NSCLC patients who were taking Osimertinib following disease progression after EGFR-TKIs or other treatments were retro-spectively recruited in this study. The PFS and OS after Osimertinib treatment were analyzed as the primary endpoints. Results: Osimertinib was used as a second line and >= 3rd line treatment in 22.6% and 77.4% of the patients, respectively. DCR and ORR were 93.4% and 57.5%, respectively. Median PFS was 12.4 12 (95% CI, 10.5-13.5) months. The PFS was 11 (8.0, 14.0) and 12 (10.3,13.7) months (p = 0.373), in patients with and without CNS metastasis, respectively. PFS in 2nd and >= 3rd line treatment was 11 (9.0, 13.0) and 12.4 12 (8.9, 15.1) months (p = 0.799), respectively. In patients with EGFR exon 19 deletion and exon 21 L858 mutation, the median PFS was 11 (9.2, 12.8) and 12 (9.2, 14.8) months, respectively (p = 0.833). Median PFS in the monotherapy group and combined anti-angiogenesis group was 11 (9.9,12.1) and 14 (11.2,16.8) months, respectively. BACKGROUND Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) are prepared by mixing solid organic precursors to form a liquid driven from strong hydrogen-bond interactions. The physical and chemical properties of these compounds have been widely investigated, and it has been shown that they are benign media for biotransformations, organicsynthesis, biodieselpreparation, and a sustainable media for nanoscale and functional materials. RESULTS This study is the first report on the synthesis of n-TiO2-P25@TDI@DES (urea: ZnCl2) with photo catalytic activity. This nano photocatalyst was obtained through covalent grafting of TiO2-P25 nanoparticles to an inexpensive and highly reactive linker (2,4-toluene diisocyanate). The presented nano photocatalyst has been employed as a covalently grafted Lewis acidic deep eutectic solvent to oxidize various primary benzyl alcohols to their corresponding carbonyl compounds by sodium nitrate as oxidant, under visible light exposure. CONCLUSION This highly efficient nanocatalyst was investigated by various characterization techniques including fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy equipped with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM with EDX), and elemental analysis. Owing to its enhanced catalytic activity, thermal stability, and environmentally friendly nature, the present method can be regarded as an attractive green chemistry approach. H-ficolin recognizes patterns on microorganisms and stressed cells and can activate the lectin pathway of the complement system. We aimed to assess H-ficolin in relation to the progression of diabetic kidney disease (DKD), all-cause mortality, diabetes-related mortality, and cardiovascular events. Event rates per 10-unit H-ficolin-increase were compared in an observational follow-up of 2,410 individuals with type 1 diabetes from the FinnDiane Study. DKD progression occurred in 400 individuals. The unadjusted hazard ratio (HR) for progression was 1.29 (1.18-1.40) and 1.16 (1.05-1.29) after adjustment for diabetes duration, sex, HbA(1c), systolic blood pressure, and smoking status. After adding triglycerides to the model, the HR decreased to 1.07 (0.97-1.18). In all, 486 individuals died, including 268 deaths of cardiovascular causes and 192 deaths of complications to diabetes. HRs for all-cause mortality and cardiovascular mortality were 1.13 (1.04-1.22) and 1.05 (0.93-1.17), respectively, in unadjusted analyses. These estimates lost statistical significance in adjusted models. However, the unadjusted HR for diabetes-related mortality was 1.19 (1.05-1.35) and 1.18 (1.02-1.37) with the most stringent adjustment level. Our results, therefore, indicate that H-ficolin predicts diabetes-related mortality, but neither all-cause mortality nor fatal/non-fatal cardiovascular events. Furthermore, H-ficolin is associated with DKD progression, however, not independently of the fully adjusted model.

A thermal O-to-C [1,3]-rearrangement of alpha-hydroxy acid derived enol ethers was achieved under mild conditions. The 2-aminothiophenol protection of carboxylic acids facilitates formation of the [1,3] precursor and its thermal rearrangement via stabilization of a radical intermediate. Experimental and theoretical evidence for dissociative radical pair formation, its captodative stability via aminothiophenol, and a unique solvent effect are presented. The aminothiophenol was deprotected from rearrangement products as well as after derivatization to useful synthons.

Background: Tuberculosis remains one of the most deadly infectious diseases worldwide due to the emergence of multi-drug resistance (MDR) and extensively drug resistance (XDR) strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB). Aims: Currently, available drugs are getting resistant and toxic. Hence, there is an urgent need for the development of potent molecules to treat tuberculosis. Materials and Methods: Herein, the screening of a total of eight symmetrical 1,4-dihydropyridine (1,4-DHP) derivatives (4a-4h) was carried out for whole-cell anti-TB activity against the susceptible H37Rv and MDR strains of MTB. Results and Discussion: Most of the compounds exhibited moderate to excellent activity against the susceptible H37Rv. Moreover, the most promising compound 4f (against H37Rv) having para-trifluoromethyl phenyl group at 4-position and bis para-methoxy benzyl ester group at 3- and 5-positions of 1,4- dihydropyridine pharmacophore, exhibited no toxicity, but demonstrated weak activity against MTB strains resistant to isoniazid and rifampicin. In light of the inhibitory profile of the title compounds, enoyl-acyl carrier protein reductase (InhA) appeared to be the appropriate molecular target. A docking study of these derivatives against InhA receptor revealed favorable binding interactions. Further, in silico predicted ADME properties of these compounds 4a-4h were found to be in the acceptable ranges, including satisfactory Lipinski’s rule of five, thereby indicating their potential as drug-like molecules. Conclusion: In particular, the 1,4-DHP derivative 4f can be considered an attractive lead molecule for further exploration and development of more potent anti-TB agents as InhA inhibitors.

Selective conversion of aromatic alcohols to value-added chemicals is becoming an emerging research hotspot in heterogeneous photocatalysis, but its critical challenge is how to construct highly efficient photocatalysts. Herein, mesoporous (001)-TiO2 nanocrystals with tailored Ti3+ and surface oxygen vacancies have been fabricated by a facile hydrothermal route, showing remarkably boosted photoactivity for selective conversion of aromatic alcohols to carbonyl compounds in water medium under visible-light irradiation. Results attest that the remarkably boosted photoactivity was mainly correlated with the strong synergetic effect of exposed (001) facets, Ti3+ self-doping, and surface oxygen vacancies, leading to the enhanced reactant (aromatic alcohols and O-2) activation via the high surface energy of (001) facets, the improved visible-light absorbance via the intrinsic band gap narrowing, and the escalated photoelectron-hole separation efficiency via Ti3+ and surface oxygen vacancies acting as electron sinks. Meanwhile, a plausible photocatalytic mechanism for selective conversion of aromatic alcohols to carbonyl compounds has been elucidated in detail based on active species identified by capture experiments. It is hoped that this work can deliver some new insights into the rational design of highly efficient photocatalysts applied in future green organic selective transformation reactions.
