[0001250] A mixture of 2-(4-bromophenyl)propan-2-ol (49 mg, 0.23 mmol), Compound 296B (110 mg, 0.23 mmol), [1 J’-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene]dichloropalladium(II) (8.4 mg, 10 muiotaetaomicron), potassium carbonate (49 mg, 0.46 mmol), water (1 mL), and 1,4-dioxane (5 mL) was heated under nitrogen atmosphere at 100 C for 2 h. After cooling, water (5 mL) was added, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate (10 mL x 3). The combined organic layers were washed with brine (5 mL). The combined organic layers were dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered, and concentrated to afford the crude product as a black oil. The oil was purified with prep-HPLC.
