[0197] To a stirred solution of the 2-(4-fluorophenyl) ethanol (200 mg, 1.43 mmol) in MeCN (4 mL) was added 2-iodoxybenzoic acid (1.2 g, 4.3 mmol). The resulting mixture was heated to 80 C.
