After removing the solvent, the residue was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel with 5:1 hexanes/ethyl acetate as the eluent to yield product 52 as a colorless oil (15.3 g, 92%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3): delta 1.48-1.62 (m, 4H), 1.68-1.85 (m, 4H), 1.94-2.02 (m, 2H), 3.40-3.53 (m, 4H), 3.74-3.88 (m, 2H), 4.57-4.59 (m, 1H).
